The HawkEye is a PCIe 8 lane Gen 3 low profile board based on Intel’s Arria 10 FPGA. This compute accelerator has up to 18 GB DDR4 on-board memory, up to four SFP+ links for a maximum of 56 Gbs.
The Arria 10 FPGA provides up to 480K LEs and IEEE floating-point numbers. The HawkEye’s memory scheme comprises embedded SRAM memory with a throughput capability of up to ~128 TB/s, 1-2 GB DDR4, and up to 16 GB of DDR4 SoDIMM (for boards with 480 devices). The DDR memory may be accessed via up to 48 parallel ports simultaneously.
The HawkEye accelerator board requires less than 12W. The board has a flexible variety of IO interfaces, including RS422, Opto-coupler, external clock, LVDS, LVT- TL (3V), and 30V/0.9A output. The HawkEye operates as either a PCIe platform or as a stand-alone FPGA accelerator.
Gidel’s unique proprietary FPGA application development tools, integrated with Intel’s Quartus Prime Pro including QSys and DSP builder design tools, can be used with the Proc10S. The Gidel development tools suite simplifies the integration of hardware and software and offers powerful IPs for on-FPGA real-time data management and data compression.
The HawkEye is supported by OpenCL, HLS, and Gidel’s innovative FPGA application development tools, and enables high productivity based on C and HDL designs.
The MTBF of the very cost-effective Gidel HawkEye FPGA accelerator board is over a million hours.
