EXP4 with 4x PCIe slots – EDT 1U expansion system

The EDT EXP4 is a 1U expansion system with four PCIe Gen 2.0. expansion slots. Each of the 8 lanes has a 16-lane connector for up to four PCIe 2.0 boards so that 1-, 4-, 8-, or 16-lane boards can be installed, although only 8 lanes can be implemented.

The unit can be used to add slots, or to accept high-power boards that are not supported by typical host servers.

The back panel has one two PCIe 2.0 x8 host ports and a serial diagnostic interface. The four expansion slots can be connected to the two host ports in any configuration: 2 + 2, 3 + 1, or 4 + 0. The 600 W power supply is removable and upgraded to 850 or 1100 W. The EXP4 comes with a one-meter PCI Express 8-lane host cable and adapter. A dual host cable-adapter assembly is available.

The case fits a 19-inch rack and is 20.5” deep to fit in shorter racks. Slides are included.

Included software allows noise versus cooling to be adjusted by controlling the fan speed, and to monitor power and voltage.
